SkyFest Big Bear
Look Up! The incredible night sky above us is not only beautiful to behold but is an important feature to a healthy ecosystem. Welcome to SkyFest Big Bear 2026!
Stargazing in Big Bear is a magical experience in any season, but this August 14-16, we're celebrating our celestial landscape like never before! SkyFest Big Bear puts our stars front and center along with astronomical exploration, and dark sky preservation.

From guided night hiking and stargazing, to astrophotography, astronomy and dark sky conservation, SkyFest Big Bear is inspiring exploration and preservation of the sky above us!
Activities include:
Friday, August 14:
- AstroFestival & Expo - a daytime event featuring astronomy and night sky lectures, vendor booths, local and visiting astronomy clubs, PLUS an imemrsive AstroDome experience! (12 PM - 4 PM)
- Nighttime DiscoverFest - an evening astronomy event geared towards kids and family with nighttime nature walks and more (4 PM - 8 PM)
- Stargaze at the Summit - Ride the Sky Chair to the top of Snow Summit for night hikes, telescopes, and guided stargazing (8 PM - 11 PM)
Saturday, August 15

Astrophotography Workshops
Friday & Saturday (August 14 & 15) from 8:30 PM - 10:30 PM
Beginner and advanced classes offered.
Forest Sound Bath
Friday, Saturday & Sunday (August 14-16) from 6:30 PM - 8 PM
A refreshing forest bathing accompanied by a soothing sound bath including the beautiful sounds of singing bowls. This meditative experience under a pine forest canopy at the peak of Snow Summit.
