In this class you will make a gorgeous, shaped belt bag perfect for your own adventures or gifting. The skills taught in this class include: how to sew darts; sewing a lined welt zip; bias binding; and bag hardware installation. This bag is highly customizable. You will go home with the pattern and ready to practice new bag making skills. An alternative to the webbing strap could be repurposing an old belt, or from a bag you no longer use. Thrift stores are full of interesting belts and hardware to harvest from bags!
This class is appropriate for a sewer with knowledge of how to use a sewing machine and sewing basics. If you’re not sure if you’re ready for this class, email and ask any questions you might have beforehand. If you are new to sewing, please check out our Sewing Fundamentals | Meet the Machine or Family & Beginners Sewing 101 | Sewing Machine Basics before enrolling.
If you are bringing your own sewing machine, it is very important to make sure it is fully functional.
The bag pattern is the Nikola Pouch by Liberty Crossroads.
